Inaugural Benefit Dinner & Auction A Success
The Meeker Education Foundation’s inaugural Benefit Dinner and Auction on March 1st was a great success – a great ‘beginning’. A crowd of 70 or more enjoyed an exceptional dinner prepared by Scott Creecy and Josh Halstead and an evening of fun. Coupled with a benefit auction of a wide variety of donated items, the event brought in $6,682.
As advertised these funds will be used for staff/student grant awards for academic/activity opportunities or classroom needs; and MEF hopes to add to these dollars. The Foundation will announce its biannual grant cycle dates and notify the District when grant applications may be submitted after March 18th.
MEF is grateful to Elk Creek Homeowners' Association for donating the food and 30 generous individuals and businesses who contributed a wide variety of sought after items for the auction (which brought in $3420) as well as 6 gift certificates/door prizes. Paul Sheridan called the auction and skillfully engaged an eager crowd committed to supporting our kids and their schools. The Foundation is extremely grateful to everyone who made the event such a success.
